Hudson, NY — The Hudson Literacy Fund (HLF) has announced the donation of new chapter books to Columbia Memorial Health’s (CMH) Hudson Pediatrics office, continuing its mission to foster a love of reading among children in the community.
The donation provides engaging, age-appropriate chapter books for children visiting the pediatric office, giving young readers the opportunity to take a book home and continue exploring stories long after their appointment.
“Putting books directly into the hands of children is one of the most effective ways to support
literacy,” said William Blowers, Treasurer of the Hudson Literacy Fund. “We’re thrilled to
partner with CMH to make reading materials more accessible to local families.”
The Hudson Literacy Fund works closely with educators, librarians, and community partners to
ensure children of all ages and reading levels have access to high-quality books. This donation is
part of HLF’s ongoing effort to supply free books to spaces where children and families gather
— from schools and libraries to healthcare offices.
“Early literacy is a cornerstone of lifelong learning and healthy development,” said Akilah
Blake, Office Manager of Pediatrics at Columbia Memorial Health. “We are grateful to the
Hudson Literacy Fund for their commitment to our community’s children and their futures.”
