The Hudson Literacy Fund and the Friends of the Hudson Area Library extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for today’s HICK author talk and book signing with Sarah Miller at the Galvan Armory Community Room.
The event offered a powerful and moving exploration of the life of Lorena “Hick” Hickok—a pioneering journalist, trailblazer, and confidante to Eleanor Roosevelt. Through a thoughtful discussion and engaging Q&A, Miller illuminated Hick’s legacy, drawing from her acclaimed young adult nonfiction book HICK, which is based on thousands of personal letters between Hick and the First Lady.
We are deeply grateful to Sarah for bringing Hick’s extraordinary story to life with such depth, compassion, and historical insight.
Special thanks to our co-hosts, The Hudson Literacy Fund and The Friends of the Hudson Area Library, for making this unforgettable event possible, and to all who attended and helped celebrate this important and inspiring story.
