2026 newly appointed executive board members: Michann Thompson, Treasurer; William Blowers, President; Sarah Reidy, Vice President
Hudson, NY — The Hudson Literacy Fund (HLF) is proud to announce its Executive Board for 2026 and to share an important new chapter in its mission to inspire and support young readers throughout the Hudson community.
Leading the board in 2026 will be William Blowers, President, along with Sarah Reidy, Vice President, Michann Thompson, Treasurer, and Meredith Zapp, Secretary. They are joined by current board members Virginia Martin, Jen Nixon, Marlena Peduzzi, Wendy Schmalz Wilde, and Christian Trimmer. Together, this dedicated group brings a heartfelt commitment to creating a community where every child has access to books, resources, and the joy of reading.
“When we give a child a book, we give them possibility,” said President William Blowers. “A single book can change how a child sees the world, and that belief drives everything we do.”
This year, HLF is honored to expand its work by assuming stewardship of the four Hudson Little Free Libraries thoughtfully cared for by longtime residents Susan Simon and Peter Frank. For years, their dedication has kept these book-sharing spaces lively, well-stocked, and accessible to children and families throughout our community.
“We are profoundly grateful to Susan and Peter,” Blowers said. “They brought to life something truly beautiful, a network of little havens where books are always waiting to be discovered. We’re humbled to carry their work forward and ensure that these libraries continue to flourish.”
In 2026, HLF will maintain, restock, and grow these beloved Hudson Little Free Libraries, honoring Susan and Peter’s legacy while expanding access to books in every corner of the community.
The Hudson Literacy Fund looks forward to a year of partnership, connection, and renewed commitment to nurturing the next generation of readers, one story, one library, and one child at a time.
