The Hudson Literacy Fund was first created to raise money to make sure that any child, regardless of income, could walk away from the Hudson Children’s Book Festival with a book and a positive learning experience. The organization has since created a number of additional literacy support programs and scholarships benefiting children in the Hudson City School District. HLF’s straightforward and noble goals are well worth celebrating and many came out to its 7th Annual Fundraising Cocktail Party at the elegant Hudson Lodge on Saturday, March 30 to honor the important work being done. The Book Festival and the HLF have reshaped the community’s commitment and passion for reading and lifelong learning over the past decade. It’s a success story Hudson can be proud of and it’s well worth a toast.
